The area around Haneda Airport (HND) is home to a wealth of fascinating spots where you can experience Japanese culture and the latest technology while on a layover or in the short time before or after your flight.

We'll introduce some recommended sightseeing spots for foreign tourists, divided into those within the airport and the surrounding area.

Airport Facilities
Even if you don't have much time, you can still enjoy Japanese culture and the latest facilities inside the terminal.

-Haneda Airport Garden-
Access : Directly connected to Terminal 3 (International)
 A large commercial complex connected directly to Terminal 3. It includes the Izumi Tenku no Yu natural hot spring (onsen) and hotel, numerous shops, and a variety of dining options.

             

-Edo Koji & Haneda Nihonbashi
Terminal 3, 4th & 5th Floors.
Located in Terminal 3, this area is designed to resemble a street from the Edo period (17th-19th century). The Haneda Nihonbashi is a half-scale replica of the historic bridge in central Tokyo, perfect for photos.

-Tokyo Pop Town
Terminal 3.
A section in Terminal 3 dedicated to Japanese modern culture, including anime, manga, and video games. It features gift shops and unique attractions like the Starry Cafe Planetarium.

Nearby Areas
This spot can be accessed from Haneda Airport in a relatively short time (less than 30 minutes) by train or bus.

-Haneda Innovation City (HIC)
Access:2 stops (or a short walk) from Haneda Airport Terminal 3 Station on the Keikyu Line.
A modern commercial complex focusing on Japanese culture, technology, and food. Key features include the Ashiyu Sky Deck (a free footbath with a view of the runways) and cultural experience shops.

              
-Local Culture & Shrines
"Anamori Inari Shrine"
Access: 3-minute walk from Anamori-inari Station (Keikyu Line, 2 stops from Airport).
A traditional Shinto shrine dedicated to the fox gods, famous for its rows of striking red torii gates, reminiscent of Fushimi Inari in Kyoto, but on a smaller, more intimate scale. It is believed to bring blessings for safe travels and business prosperity.

              

"Kamata Area (Shopping & Onsen)"
Access: About 15 minutes by train to Kamata Station (Keikyu Line/JR Line).
A lively, local neighborhood in Ota Ward. You can explore a variety of shopping streets (Shotengai), try local specialties like Kamata Gyoza (dumplings), and experience a Japanese public bath, such as the famous black hot spring (Kuroyu) at Kamata Onsen.

Day Trip Options
If you have a little more time (for example, if you have a layover of more than four hours), you can travel closer to the city center by taking the Keikyu Line or Tokyo Monorail.

-Shinagawa
Access: Direct train ride of about 15 minutes from Haneda Airport to Shinagawa Station on the Keikyu Line.
A major business and transport hub with large shopping centers, various dining options, and easy access to the JR Yamanote Line for exploring the rest of Tokyo.

-Odaiba
Access: About 30-50 minutes by train (via Tokyo Monorail and Rinkai Line).
An artificial island in Tokyo Bay known for its modern architecture, entertainment centers, shopping malls, and views of the Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo skyline.

              
-Tokyo Tower
Access: About 45-60 minutes by train (via Keikyu and Toei Oedo Line to Akabanebashi Station).
Tokyo's iconic orange-and-white structure offers observation decks and a variety of shops and cafes at its base.
