Shibuya station JR Yamanote line in Tokyo

Today we introduce Shibuya station of JR Yamanote line in Tokyo.

Yamanote line is most famous line in Japan.
The color of the train is green.
It is a loop line that connects major cities in Tokyo, stopping at 30 stations and making a 35km loop in about 60 minutes.

9 train lines run through Shibuya Station.
Shibuya Station functions as one of Tokyo's most important terminal stations, with approximately 3.3 million passengers.
It is the second largest in the world after Shinjuku Station.

Along with Shinjuku and Ikebukuro, it is one of the three major urban subcenters in the uptown area, and is one of Japan's leading commercial districts centered around Shibuya Station.
A large downtown area spreads mainly in the direction of Center Gai on the northwest side of Shibuya Station. Known as a "town for young people," department stores such as "Seibu Department Store," "Tokyu Department Store," "Shibuya Parco," "109," "Shibuya Scramble Square," and "MIYASHITA PARK (Shibuya Ward Miyashita Park)," fashion buildings, specialty stores, and restaurants. 

In front of Shibuya Station, there is a bronze statue of Hachiko, the faithful dog, which is a famous place to meet, and the Shibuya Scramble Crossing is directly across from it. The Shibuya scramble crossing boasts a high level of recognition worldwide and is visited by many tourists from Japan and abroad.



Every year on October 31st and the weekend before, many young people in costumes gather at the scramble crossing, which is famous as the sacred place and center of Halloween in Japan.
